Homemade Ice cream without ice cream machine

Make your own ice cream without any ice cream maker or electric whisk. Just need few ingredients easily available everywhere, a flat tray or a flat dish and a freezer.

For this recipe you'll need only these essential ingredients:

  1. Heavy cream: 2 cups

  2. Evaporated milk: 1 cup

  3. Powdered Sugar: 1 cup

  4. Vanilla extract: 1/2 tsp(or any other flavoring of your choice)

Equipment used :

  • Flat tray

  • Whisk(electric whisk if available)

  • Freezer

  • Airtight container


Procedure:

In a bowl whisk your heavy cream for few minutes. Then add the evaporated milk and sugar. Add the vanilla extract and mix it well. Pour the mix into the flat tray and put it in the freezer for an hour uncovered.


After exactly an hour take out the tray and whisk the mixture vigorously to incorporate the air and break the ice crystals. If you don't have a whisk you can also do it with a wooden spoon.


Do this step after every 30 mins 5-6 times.

After this point your ice cream will be almost ready. At this point you can add other elements to your ice cream like cookies, oreos, jams, nuts chocolate chips and many more things as per your preferance.


Whisk it for a last time. Pack your ice cream in a air tight container and put it in the freezer for overnight or at least 4 hours.


After the final freezing, check if it is firm or not. Scoop it out and serve.


# Yes you will find some ice crystals but not that much and it has very similar texture to a store bought ice cream.
